Greetings from Toronto! I am having a great time with my new moms and love to keep them busy with my crazy antics - especially at 5am!
I love to burrow so much that my new moms are starting to wonder if Emily concealed some secret mole rat heritage in my pedigree. Burrowing under laptops is my favourite, but blankets make for some pretty excellent tunnels and nests too:

I love to play with my 7-year-old big sister Anastasia. It's especially fun to wake her up from her naps when I'm bored - but that's okay, she does the same thing to me! We love to play tag at top speed around the house, and we wrestle so ferociously that it makes our moms nervous - but don't worry, I got this. The instant Anastasia lets me up I just pounce on top of her head again. I'm a pretty great pouncer! She still won't let me snuggle with her though :(. But I keep trying!

The best toys are the forbidden ones, like electric cords and that pesky curtain pull that dangles JUST out of reach from the top of my cat tree. When my moms catch me being naughty they spray me with water. It's very undignified and then I have to give myself a bath. :(
At least until I catch sight of my tail - do you have any idea how hard it is to give yourself a proper washing when you have a tail that keeps wriggling just out of reach!??
Chasing my tail at 3am on moms' bed is pretty great too. My moms like it so much that sometimes one of them will wake up and play with me, yay! At least, I think that's what she's doing when she dumps me off the side of the bed...
Once in a while I sleep too. I try to get all my sleeping done during the day though, so that I can be awake to pounce on my moms' toes at night! I'm pretty sure that's the main reason why they love me so much, so I have to make sure not to slack on my toe-pouncing duty. It's a great sacrifice, let me tell you!

My moms can't get over how adorable I am. I'm pretty awesome like that.
Rachel, It sounds like Fiona and Pippa do the same thing to the adult cats when it comes to frontal attack mode LOL! And Pippa's two moms are relieved to hear that Anastasia won't allow any cuddling yet either. As for night time playtime crazies, we have had to give Pippa a time-out by shutting her in the den for awhile until she stops bouncing off the walls. They become little kitten hurricanes and no one in their path is safe from attack.

ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to both of you...I must have forgotten to mention that a litter of kittens is nocturnal, and they don't grow out of it for a few weeks after they leave. :) Don't worry, eventually they should sleep for most of the night.
I think Emily has a lot of secrets about our feline cutie patooties that we begin to see over time. My daughters have loved seeing Fiona and pippa's pics. Such beautiful ally cats...
